Meet and Greet
The practice offers complimentary “Meet and Greet” sessions for new parents, families new to the area and parents exploring a change in pediatric providers. Information about the practice, routine examinations and immunizations, and many frequently asked questions will be discussed.
The Meet and Greet sessions are held on the second and fourth Friday of each month at 8am. If you would like to attend our new family session, please call 919-859-9991 and press option 2 and provide us your name, phone number, and the session you plan to attend. This registration is not mandatory, but it does allow for us to plan and also to contact you should a class need to be changed or cancelled.
For expectant parents who are interested, we also offer a "Breastfeeding 101" class taught by our Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
What happens next?
If you deliver at WakeMed Cary and you've decided that Western Wake Pediatrics is who you would like as your baby's pediatric provider, simply tell the hospital staff and they will notify us of your baby's birth. One of our physicians will come see you and the baby within 24 hours of birth, typically in the morning. They will examine the baby and take care of him/her every day that you are in the hospital.
We ask that you call our office after the baby is discharged from the hospital in order to schedule their first visit at our practice. The goal of this visit is to check the newborn's weight during a time of expected weight loss, and examine for jaundice. Please call our office at 919 859-9991 and press option 8 for new patient registration, to schedule this visit. We look forward to meeting and caring for your newborn.
