Literacy Promotion

The staff at Western Wake Pediatrics is excited about literacy and has a multi-pronged effort to increase the interaction that our patients and families have with books.

Western Wake Pediatrics has partnered with Reach Out and Read, which means that your child will receive an age appropriate book at each well child check from age 6 months until 5 years.

Our exam rooms and waiting rooms have many books that you are welcome to use while in the office.  In addition, we also have a Little Free Library, where your child can swap books and take additional new treasures home.

Find your local library, register for an account, and open up a world of possibilities at Wake County Library!

Reading is not just for the pediatric population! Here are some book suggestions arranged by topic for caregivers who want to read more.
